Bursary
Each bursary shall be in the amount of $500.00 . The number of bursaries available will be determined annually by the executive committee based on funds available.

Eligibility
Any high school graduate, who is engaged in or intends to be engaged in a dramatic theater arts program at the post secondary level, who has demonstrated a financial need and a keen interest and love for theater arts is eligible to apply and may be considered for a bursary.

Preference
Preference shall be given to eligible candidates who have not been a prior recipient of the bursary and who have demonstrated an interest in the theater arts and/or is a member of South Shore Players.

Selection
The executive committee will consider all applications received and prepare a list of those applicants who they consider to be eligible for the bursary in order of priority. The executive committee’s determination of eligibility and priority shall be final. Available bursaries will be offered to applicants in order of the priority established by the executive committee. In the event that an offer of a bursary is not accepted or if accepted the applicant does not proceed with the program for which the bursary has been granted, the bursary shall be cancelled and on the discretion of the executive committee be offered to the next eligible person in order of priority.

Payment of Bursary
Bursaries will be paid directly to the educational institution in two equal payments. The first payment upon proof of registration for the first term and the second upon proof of registration at the beginning of the second term. In the event that a bursary recipient fails to continue with the program for which the bursary has been granted, any unexpended portion of the bursary shall be cancelled.
